The Viewing panel lets you set the font and the date format to be used when displaying e-mail text. Click on the Set List Text Font... button to set the font for the list of e-mail search results. Click on the Set body Text Font... to set the font for the body of the e-mail selected in the list. Any combination of year, month, day order and separator character (-, /, .) can be chosen for the date format. You can also choose the default sorting order for Browse and Search results. Choose any one of the fields to sort by, and whether the sort should be ascending or descending.

Clicking on the Merge Database... item in the File menu brings up a standard Open dialog to choose a MailSteward database file that you want to merge with the current database file. This can be useful if, for example, you have one database file on your desktop computer and a different one on your laptop. You can periodically merge the laptop data into your desktop database file. If there are duplicates, the email in the current database file is retained, rather than being replaced by the database being merged into the current database.

If I exported those without “Export all subfolders” on, then I’d be saving “Work TO DO,” “TO KEEP,” and “Electronic Receipts,” but not the folders underneath them. Bad, bad, bad, wrong. I’m not sure why Apple made this choice—it’s not as if this saves a bunch of screen space or anything!—but as long as you’re aware of what you’re doing, everything should be OK.

Upgrading to the standard or pro versions of MailSteward gives you advanced search capabilities, including the ability to save common searches. They also give you the opportunity to export or merge your databases and schedule automatic archiving. MailSteward Pro can also handle in excess of 100,000 emails, (the other versions don't), but it requires a MySQL database server.
With MailSteward, you can safely archive your large volume of vital email information, easily access your email database with fast, sophisticated searching and protect your essential email data from data formatting by locking important batches of mails. MailSteward can be a little tricky to configure but once you've done so, it works quietly in the background.
CHECKING FOR DUPLICATE E-MAIL
sudo rm -rf /Library/Receipts/mysql*
sudo rm -rf /Library/PreferencePanes/My*
This upgrade will upgrade your installed copy of MailSteward to MailSteward Pro. The MySQL database server must be installed and running for MailSteward Pro to work.
After hitting enter on the first command, the system will ask for your MySQL password. You can find this in ~/Desktop/MYSQL_PASSWORD.
